Update: Bookmobile service is temporarily suspended beginning March 16th and until further notice.
March 27, 2020
Dear bookmobile and outreach patrons,
Our primary concern is the health of our patrons and staff during this unprecedented time. Thank you for your continued support and patience as we continue to evaluate and adjust our operations due to the COVID-19 outbreak. I hope this message finds you and your loved ones well.
National, state and local officials have put a number of measures in place to help slow the spread of COVID-19 to flatten the curve, prevent strain on healthcare systems, and save lives. At Viking Library System, we have been working continually during the past couple of weeks to respond to this rapidly changing situation. We have been brainstorming how to best, and most safely, serve you and our communities during this time.
On March 16th, we temporarily suspended our regular bookmobile services through March 27th. After much discussion and in accordance with Minnesota Department of Health recommendations, we are extending the temporary suspension of our regular bookmobile services until further notice. Due dates on all items are being extended and there is no need to return items at this time. We are working on putting modified service options in place and look forward to sharing those with you in the near future.
The Viking Library System and member libraries offer a wide variety of online resources including ebooks, downloadable audiobooks, streaming movies, TV and music services and a wide variety of educational databases and distance learning resources. Please visit www.viking.lib.mn.us/electronic-resources to access these resources.
We will continue to communicate with you as our response to this outbreak evolves. We look forward to welcoming you back to your Bookmobile and continue to look forward to debuting a new Bookmobile later this year! Watch our facebook page for more information on the new Bookmobile and for continued updates on our COVID-19 response. Please also feel free to contact me at email@example.com with any questions or comments.
